QUEENSLAND
Queensland is in the northeast part of Australia and is known among others, for the Gold Coast and the Great Barrier Reef,
Its coastline is a whopping 7,000 kilometers! The capital Brisbane is the second biggest city in Australia and the third most
populated. Queensland has ten of the twenty largest cities in Australia, and ranks 3rd in terms of economic size.
Its sceneries are beautiful and diverse, from beaches to rainforests to dry tropical lands to mountains.
It is called the "sunshine state" because the sun shines in this city for more or less 300 days each year.
And then there is central Queensland. A jewel of a gem…literally.
Queensland has also been referred to as the state "Where Australia shines." And for good reason.
Sapphire, gold, and a bit of diamonds have been mined in this geologically endowed land for over a century now.
Any which way you look at it, this Australian state sparkles with beauty and vibrant activity.
WHY
Why come to this outback part of the world?.
Why not the famous sandy beaches of the Sunshine and Gold Coast of Queensland?
Why not the cosmopolitan side with all the creature comforts? Because the Central Queensland Sapphire Gemfields is SPECIAL,
that's why. This has been proven by the rising numbers of visitors to the place year after year after year.
Though international tourists from around the world have gotten so curious about the rising popularity of the
Australian Sapphire enough to cross the miles and have a closer look, domestic tourists including grey nomands have also
made their presence felt and tried their luck in finding sapphires.
Sometimes they find something else too…a community with welcoming arms. And some stay longer, and some stay permanently.
Do not forget the highlight and main purpose of your trip to the Central Queensland Gemfields though!
Never leave without trying your hand at fossicking.
It's a once in a lifetime experience to be treasured for the rest of your life!
